Yesterday, we wrote about the teaser SUPERHOT VR gave us about the third birthday of the game. We were nearly certain that this game was going to get a sizable update, but that wasn’t the case. In fact, another one of our predictions happened. No, it wasn’t the figurines being shipped out to backers, it was a video for the fans. In this video, the game developers showed some of the best highlights of the game being played for the last three years from people all across the world.

We have to say, it warms our heart to see such a warm tribute to the people who play this game. We think SUPERHOT is one of the best virtual games in the world, and we have thought that since we had a chance to play it just over three years ago. We aren’t going to admit to shedding a tear or two, but we will admit that after putting hundreds of hours into a game, a tribute video touched us in ways we didn’t expect.

After giving our ideas of the “proper thank you” more thought, we started to doubt our initial ideas of this game getting a massive update. We aren’t saying the game has ran its course, but it has accomplished everything it has set out to do. Most gamers know no end to this game, as there are hundreds of levels that seem to span for hours for each. Time only moves when you do, and moving in this game is rare. There is a lot of content in this game, and spending hours and money on making more three years after the release wasn’t the smartest for the game.

With all of that being said, the developing studio is alive and well, and it is evident every day. We know the SUPERHOT community is still begging for some new DLC for the Oculus Quest or even different colors in the game, but that doesn’t seem likely. What does seem likely though, it some collaborations with this game down the road, and a possible sequel to the original SUPERHOT.

It would be a complete shock to not only us, but to the entire gaming community to see the developers not monetize this game idea some more and make some more content. The gaming world has shown that we will eat it up, and unless the devs completely miss the dunk, it would be sold across all platforms. This would help their bottom line and their popularity even more than they could imagine.

The Reddit universe is also in shambles today, as they were almost certain (as we were) that this “proper thank you” was some sort of update. If you venture to the website or app and type in SUPERHOT VR, you are going to run into some fans and gamers alike that were shocked by the video. We think it was a brilliant idea and a perfectly executed idea to generate some buzz.

The game is already on Viveport Infinity, which often symbolizes some sort of death of future DLC or large updates. If you are still looking for your copy of the game, you can go to Infinity, the Oculus Store, and the Steam Store as well. If you don’t own a VR headset, no worries. This game is also available on the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation systems. It’s an all-time classic that is going to be introduced to many peoples children as “The Best Game Ever.” For more VR news and gaming community updates, make sure to check back at VRGear.com
