The HTC Vive Cosmos wasn’t the most anticipated virtual reality headset of the year, and the lack of hype was well placed. The headset, when first released, was a disappointment by all measures. Coming from a company with their stature and their history, it was hard to see a headset be released and flop so poorly. The problems were deemed to be with the software, and it made sense.

The headset itself looks great, but there were some holes to fill with the software. To HTC’s credit, they have been working hard to get more software out there. Through big beta releases, they have found what works and what is sticking. They have also found what they need to stay away from as they release the full versions and public versions. Their turnaround time between beta and public is speeding up though, which is a promising sign for all of their Cosmos customers. If you are wanting a peek at what those release notes are, you can find them below. They are slightly different than the Beta notes we posted about a couple days ago, but for the most part, they will remain the same.
