** STORMLAND SPOILERS AHEAD**

Insomniac Games released Stormland yesterday, and the virtual community has been left in shambles trying to figure out how to beat this hit Oculus exclusive title. If you are having trouble in this game trying to figure out how cycles work, join the club. We think this game is great, and the depth of it is showing why this game is considered a true full title.

Each cycle lasts for a full calendar week and will be showing gamers a new look at all of the variety of the map. It will be rolling every Tuesday, and will be doing that for the foreseeable future. Each cycle is unique, and each generation of materials and weapons is refreshed every day. This is already shaping up to be a virtual reality game that is here to stay.

If you haven’t found the objective yet, it is to conquer the Tempest tower in the Terminus. To do that, you.l need to continuously unlock more worlds and complete Storm Portal missions. Oculus has released a blog post suggesting how they think this all should be done. To ensure we don’t miss any key phrases or helpful hints that will help you, we have included the beef of the post below. You can buy Stormland on the Oculus Store for a simple $39.99.

Hero Ascension

At the end of the main story and at the end of any cycle in which you’ve successfully completed Terminus, you’ll trade in the following upgrades for hero growth:

  • Equipped Aeon Buds and corresponding skills
  • Holstered weapons and gear
  • Acquired weapons schematics
  • Unlocked strata access points

Growth expands your hero’s power ceiling with new Aeon Bud slots and new skills. Purchases made with growth are permanent and never reset.

If you don’t defeat Terminus in a given cycle, you’ll keep all your upgrades and strata unlocks, so you can proceed towards Terminus at your own pace.

By starting on a fresh new cycle with a new character build, you can play the cycle with an appropriately powered character alongside the rest of the community and tailor your new character’s build to the new cycle conditions. The world is revived, gameplay stays challenging, and progression stays brisk.

Activity Time

What else is there to do in Stormland’s Cycling World? Plenty! Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Find human habitats. Campsites filled with artifacts and audio logs populate the world.
  • Shoot down weather balloons. Capsules filled with resources drift through the upper atmosphere.
  • Raid supply barges. Aerial ships hold supplies for skilled gliders.
  • Climb towers. Tempest drilling devices contain valuable weapons.
  • Scan collectibles. New collectibles appear in each stratum.
  • Intercept Tempest transmissions. Some Strongholds and Terminus towers beam transmissions from Tempest command. Scan transmissions to learn more about the Tempest’s ominous motives.

Tips + Tricks

From combat and traversal to exploration and beyond, there are plenty of ways to make the most of what Stormland has to offer while giving yourself a competitive edge. Here are just a few of our favorites.

Create a Cyclone Burst
When approaching an island, shoot the clouds with your hand laser right after you skim by a Speed Buoy to glide onto the island interior from above—this may save you some time walking or climbing and lets you quickly survey the island’s contents.

Vault Over Enemies
When a Goliath Trooper goes into siege mode, their firing arc is mostly in front of their shield—fling yourself over them and hit the weak points on their hip before they can respond.

Glide Into a Stealth Attack
Gliding is both silent and fast, so it’s great for stealth kills if you can master the soft landing. Raise and pull your hands into feather and brake as you approach the ground behind your enemy target.
