Best VR Games for Your Quest
Beat Saber
Price: $29.99
Beat Saber is one of the biggest reasons virtual reality is doing so well right now. Its the only VR game that has a commercial that is being shown on a national scale, and it is being shown with the Oculus Quest. That only goes to prove how good of a game this is. If you own a Quest, you’ll need to buy this game the moment you open the box. In fact, you might need to download the game in the Oculus App before you put the Oculus Quest on your head. This is one of the few virtual titles that have the ‘must buy’ tag.
Vader Immortal
Price: $30 for all three episodes ($10 each)
If you bought your Quest within the last month, these three episodes came with your purchase. If you bought your Quest before or after, they will set you back $30. Robo Recall: Unplugged
Price: $29.99
This is an Oculus Exclusive game, and it is still hiding its case as the best Oculus Exclusive. This was made for the Touch controllers, and the Oculus Touch 2.0 is the best for this game. Playing this game on the original Rift is not nearly the same as the Quest, and a first-person shooter with this much movement was meant for a standalone headset. This is the best FPS virtual reality game for the Quest, especially when you are looking for a lot more action than storytelling.
The Climb
Price: $29.99
The Climb is the first immersive sports simulation game on this list, but it didn’t get here by chance. Crytek took a lot of time enhancing this game for the Quest, and this is the headset that it runs best on. With the 6 degrees of freedom on the Quest and the gameplay being optimized for this VR device, you won’t have any problems getting to the top of your next mountain. This is a mobile app that feels like it could be running on the Vive Pro. Buy this game if you are looking for great views with some adrenaline-pumping action.
Arizona Sunshine

This is the most expensive game on the list so far, but you are getting more than you are paying for. This game won Horror Game of the Year from Oculus. Virtual reality doesn’t get many horror games, but this is the best by far. It’s a first-person shooter with zombies based in Arizona, a place that is clearly highlighted in the title. From hours and hours in campaign to the immersive and lengthy Horde mode, you won’t get bored any time soon with this game. New updates and DLC are continuing to pour out onto the Quest as well. Buy it before the price goes up!

It didn’t end up being the best game of all time, but it is one of the better games of the year without a doubt. There aren’t any robots to shoot in this one, but this arcade shooter simulator is going to give you everything you are wanting out of your standalone headset. This game is also for the PC VR community, but it is going to be better on the Quest.
Best Apps for your Quest
YouTube VR
Price: Free
When it comes to apps on the Oculus Store, not many are going to be better than the VR app that YouTube has put together. There aren’t many apps and games that are used more than this one right here. Throughout the day, the average human is going to visit YouTube at least a few times. This is no different than VR. Regular video libraries get a facelift with the ability for some to go for full 360° viewing. There is also a library full of these videos, something that is incredibly rare. Download this app for unlimited content viewing inside of YouTube VR.
Rec Room
Price: Free
Rec Room is a social app inside of the Oculus Store that is also slowly turning into a place to create mini-games. If you are wanting to explore some community-built games and talk to some incredibly annoying 9-year-olds, this game is going to be perfect for you. There is a lot to do in here and you will likely find something new each time that you jump into the headset. This is one of the best social VR apps on the market today.
Netflix
Price: Free (subscription required)
Netflix inside of virtual reality isn’t anything special, but it does give you access to all of the content Netflix has to offer. None of it is going to be at 360° or 180°, but it will give you a nice place to watch some TV and zone out for a little bit. This isn’t an app that is going to have you bragging to all of your friends, but you will need to download it if you have a Netflix subscription that you want to take advantage of.
Tilt Brush by Google
Price: $19.99
Tilt Brush by Google is the best 3D art app inside and out of virtual reality. It is simple enough for beginners to understand and use, and has the depth inside the app for the most advanced artists to thrive. If you are even slightly interested in creating some 3D versions of art, this game should be on your Quest instantly. Show this to your friends and family if you are looking for an app that’ll blow them out of the water. Google had, and continues to own, one of the best visions for art and VR.
Oculus Quill
Price: Free (for now)
Oculus Quill is the best way to create inside of virtual reality. Google Tilt Brush is a fantastic way to make some 3D art, but Quill is the best way to make 3D animation. It is free right now, but with the software being purchased by Adobe, that could change any day. Download it to your Quest for unlimited access to the best way to develop and create 3D movies and clips. It is also compatible with other art apps as well.
Best Games for Oculus Link
When taking this list in, remember that the Quest is not the Rift S, even though they try to sell it as it is with the newest Beta. The next three games are what we have found work best on the PC when you use your Quest as a Rift or Rift S.
Stormland
Price: $39.99
Stormland is the Oculus Exclusive game that we were waiting for from Insomniac Games. Players were instantly drawn to this game, even though it isn’t one of the most polished virtual reality experiences on the market. The space between this game and the best is large, but it still is a great play on the Quest. It runs very smoothly because it was made for Oculus headsets. If you are wanting to show tour Quest’s ability to transform, show your peers this game first.
Zero Caliber VR
Price: $24.99
Getting first-person shooting in VR isn’t easy, and the VR Oculus team did a fantastic job making sure this game works with any Oculus VR headset. Whether it be the Quest, Rift, or Rift S, you are going to find that this multi-player FPS is powerful. The mapping to the controllers is perfect, and the ease of killing in this game is next-level, similar to Fortnite when you are in a rhythm. Buy this game and try it out on your Quest now!
Blade and Sorcery
Price: $19.99
Blade and Sorcery is the game we have been waiting for with hand-to-hand combat inside of virtual reality. The sword isn’t everything here though, as a great deal of magic will have to used to make this game worthwhile. The Quest is perfect for this though, as the mapping is perfectly done for the controller and the tracking stays intact the entire experience. This is a full game that is still in early access, so buying right now while the price is right is going to be a big get.
