In what has been months of anticipation, we are seeing the hit game Racket: NX make its way to the Oculus Quest. When this game was announced as a headline for the Quest we didn’t know we would be waiting months to get our hands on it after the release of the headset. Unlike games like Superhot VR, Vader Immortal, and Beat Saber, this game didn’t make its way to the standalone headset right away.

July 18th is now the date to mark in your calendars, as from then on you will be able to play racket sports from wherever you happen to be, virtual or real. This game had previously been on all tethered PC VR headsets, but it often felt like it was compromised due to the constant chords. The game will most definitely take a leap now that the Quest is a platform to play on. This game requires the user to constantly turn and hit, and that is most optimized on the Oculus Quest. Now you will not have to worry about tripping over yourself and the wires as you are smashing the ball past your opponent into the targets on the walls.

This game will require fast reflexes and quick thinking. That will be negated if you don’t even know where the ball is. You can only whip your head around so fast. You can always hear what you can’t see. This is why the game has incorporated great spatial audio for its users. You will be able to hear the waves of the ball as it travels around you. Included in this audio you are going to hear some fun EDM as you are racketing away. No matter how you get there, the noise in this game is top-notch.

As for game modes on this game, there is handful. You can try the solo mode in which you are going to be playing against the computer as it get progressively harder each time level. If you are looking for a chill fun mode, arcade is the way to go. In arcade, the fun is endless. The score of yours keeps going up and you never fail. It is the perfect way to get introduced into the game and have some fun with it. This is also is a great place for first-time users to get the hand go the mechanics of this fun and fast game.

There is also a multiplayer mode that is very easy to get wrapped up in. You are going to be able to play with anyone with this game, as it is cross-platform to play. You can work your way up the leader boards by playing in ranked matches, or play with your friends in private matches that are a lot more relaxed than you’d think. No matter how you play with your friends or foes, the multiplayer game mode is something that will drive plenty of people on the fence about this game to buy it.

The science-fiction coating of this game will keep you entertained for hours. It will hide and mask the fact that you are essentially going to be playing wall ball with a racket for hours. The movements in this game are precise and crisp, and you will rarely, if ever, feel motion sickness while playing Racket NX.

Overall this game is something that will be a smash hit on the Oculus Quest. The game has something for everyone. Novices and experts alike will have the time of their life playing wall ball inside of a virtual reality.
