Top VR puzzle game, I Expect You To Die, is getting its final DLC pack in what was one of the most successful runs in a VR game up to date. The final DLC level is called “Seat of Power” and will be coming to all platforms. It will be arriving November 19th to your virtual reality headset. This marks the end of the free DLC we have been getting from this game for three years now.

If you have been neglecting this game since when you first bought it back in 2016, you’ll be happy to know there has been a number of free DLC’s that have yet to be downloaded to your exact headset. The game first debuted on the PS VR system and the Rift back in 2016, and since then, has added support for all other headsets including the Oculus Quest. This game has become world-famous, partly in thanks to the free DLC that has been keeping this game relevant long after the initial release date.

All of the DLC that has been released to the public has followed the spy theme and keep the game’s story continuous even when most wouldn’t expect it to be this many years after release.

This next DLC level that will be arriving at the start of next week, Seat of Power, is going to task the player with infiltrating the Zoraxis Space Corporation to stop a deadly device. It is set on firing on “some unknown target”, so getting to it before then will be the name of the game in your final mission with I Expect You To Die.

“When I Expect You To Die launched three years ago, none of us could have imagined the incredible level of support we would receive from fans. We are proud to have made a game that has stood the test of time for so many players,” said Schell Games CEO Jesse Schell. “Without the ingenuity and skill of our development team, I Expect You To Die would not be the success that it is today. For the sake of fans everywhere, the team hopes to be able to continue this franchise into the future.”

We are uncertain of the future of Schell Games when it comes to their next piece of work, but we are certain that they are going to have something in the works very shortly. Whether it be a second installment of I Expect You To Die or a different game, they have found a community that is wanting to support their work. It could be another puzzling game or it could be another type, and we still think the game would thrive. As we stated in our in-depth review of I Expect You To Die, this game nails down just about everything you would want to see inside of virtual reality.

It’s not rare that a development team that nails the first game, nails a second game. If they did it right once, it is usually repeatable. It is more of a reflection of the work of the studio rather than just the game itself. If Schell Games decides to jump into the virtual realm once again, you should be expecting a game that is top level.

This game has already taken a handful of awards home, so we shouldn’t be expecting anything about this game tomorrow night at the annual VR awards, but the DLC is more than worthy. For more VR gaming news and community updates, make sure to check back at VRGear.com
