Kingspray Graffiti VR, a popular art game on the Oculus Store and Steam Store, is finally coming to the Oculus Quest. The news first broke from @NathieVr on Twitter, and you can see his release tweet below.
Although it doesn’t seem like it will be a huge upgrade in graphics or gameplay, being untethered is going to take this game to new heights. This game has been a staple in the virtual reality industry for years now, and the most versatile headset has a chance host this game now. The Oculus Quest has widely become the most popular VR headset. Not because it has the best graphics and tracking, but anyone can strap it on and play. You don’t need a multi-thousand dollar PC to start the Quest, and that is something that is very valuable in todays world.
Kingspray is the best way to make art on the streets in VR. With updates coming every few months, this game keeps getting better and better. They have recently changed the way their paint simulation works as well. Now your wet paint will dry over time, your metallic paints will still look wet after hours, and the new collection of Ironlak paints work wonders. When this game makes its way to the Oculus Quest, you can expect it to be updated even more than usual.
When the game launches on the Quest, you can expect more locations to be revealed as well. Right now, there are five different locations to spray on. They are the subway station, train year, bunker, rooftop, Top Dog Auto Repair, and they have recently been demoing The Lab. The Lab allows you to paint on random wall surfaces, cars, and other vehicles. Each of these have immersive details that can’t be replicated anywhere else inside of the VR wolds.
This game also provides a multiplayer mode that is more inclusive than many VR games and apps. You can have top to four different players on the in the same atmosphere at once, regardless of the platform you wish to play on. You can be on your Valve Index while your buddies are on the Oculus Rift S, and you can be working on the same wall in real time. You will also be able to chat with these players, something not a lot of virtual reality games feature at this time.
The Director System from Kingspray is one of the best they have on the game. This allows you to present your finished art in a cinematic or fun way for your audience. You will be able to replay it from the beginning of the creation process. On top of that, you will alway to have a projector on top of your art while you create it. For experienced artist and beginners alike, this feature is going to be one of the best you can get inside of a VR art game. You will be able to upload your own images as well, so you can get as creative as you want inside of your own headset.
Along with being able to play your own music inside of the headset while you create, take 360° pictures while you create, and much more, this game is set up to make a huge impact on the Oculus Quest storefront. With the release of the game still undetermined, you can expect more steam to pick up around the release in the coming weeks and months.
