The Museum of Other Realities isn’t your typical virtual reality experience. This virtual museum was first found by Robin Stethem in 2017, and it is still the most original virtual museum we have seen to this date. This type of museum isn’t possible in the real world just yet, making virtual reality the premier destination and medium for this type of art experience.

After a long two years inside of early access, the doors of the Museum of Other Realties (MOR) have finally opened to the public. This museum is full of perfectly made 3D immersive artwork. The multidimensional artists that create for this museum have the opportunity to create in a way that can only be experienced by virtual reality users. You can check out the trailer below to get a sample of what were talking about.

You can create, share, and explore others altered realties that they carefully create for others to consume. The actual museum itself will constantly be rotating new and old projects in, keeping the museum fresh and always up to date. No two tours will be the same, something not all museums in today’s world can promise.

“The work people are doing is inexpressibly amazing. You have to see it,” said Colin Northway, MOR co-founder and developer of Fantastic Contraption in an official release. “These artists are going to define the future and they are already redefining the present. And to be there and see it—to be part of it—is hugely exciting.”

“Right now, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what is possible,” added MOR co-founder, Robin Stethem. “I’m excited to work with artists on a space that will allow a broader audience to experience this incredible realm of creative potential in its native medium – and, perhaps, to inspire a new generation of artists.”

The goodness of the interactive art experience doesn’t stop there. Inside of the museum, you can also check out live events that will be hosted inside of the game. Its there that you can meet and greet with like-minded artists, some of which that you might recognize by the artwork they wear on their sleeve.

With this 1.0 release out of early access, there’s a handful of updates and game improvements to be noted. An easier navigation system to find what you are looking for, new social interaction controls, avatar customizations, and even the newest artwork from some featured artists. There is a lot to love about this interactive art experience/game.

“After many months of development, we’re excited to finally launch version 1.0 of the Museum of Other Realities (MOR),” states MOR Museum Inc. in the update. “During our time in Early Access, we had the opportunity to hear from the community, which in turn, helped us iterate based on the valuable feedback we’ve received. We’re also glad to have worked with so many amazing artists who have contributed so much to the MOR.”

This is an incredibly original idea and virtual app. Expressing your art inside of virtual reality is something that feels like a privilege when you manage the medium in the right way. You can pick this game on SteamVR right now for $19.99.
