Varjo, a growing XR company, has launched their second VR headset. This headset is coming with human-eye resolution and hand tracking as well. It is coming in two different models, the VR-2 and the VR-2 Pro. The new headsets are compatible with SteamVR content as well as the OpenVR platform that is mainly used as a development platform. The resolution is an impressive 4K per eye, effectively putting away the screen door effect that we hate to see inside of virtual headsets.
The headsets also include a new Bionic Display that is going to enhance natural peripheral vision as well as color constancy through different apps and softwares. We don’t have our hands on one of these new headsets from Varjo just yet, but when we do, we will give a full in-depth review on the hardware.

If the perfect resolution and the hand tracking weren’t enough to make you spend $5,000, eye tracking is going to be included in the Pro version of the headset. This will allow companies that use this headset to track where each employee is looking exactly, making this headset easy to use when you have your own software with good eye-tracking habits ready to be deployed into new and improved Varjo headset.
Because the hand tracking in this headset is so powerful, Varjo hasn’t worried about making controllers, as you will be able to interact with the world with your own two hands. This eliminates any latency or frustration the classic VR controller brings to the table. This hand tracking is going to be elite, not the same technology you will find inside of the Oculus Quest this upcoming January.
