The UK-based business, WaveOptics, has announced that they have raised over $26 million for their series C investments. It is unclear if they are done with the investments because they still are calling it a “first stage” investment, suggesting a possibility that they may continue to receive aid.
The investments received for series C are all going to help continue the company to build a large supply chain for the company’s optics. The investments were led by Octopus Ventures, and many more corporations chipped in. New investors Goertek and Optimas Capital Partners.
WaveOptics plans to build more volume and make their product have more supply and hopefully demand in Asia, UK, and the US. This announcement comes shortly after Goertek agreed to partner with WaveOptics. Now Goertek will exclusively offer and manufacture the optics to clients looking for AR headsets and their products.
As of now, the optics give you a 40 degree field of view, but they soon hope to deliver a FOV of 55 degrees.
