Oculus Quest and Football – 2MD Strikes Again

0

When it comes to virtual sports on the Oculus Quest, there are plenty of options. When it comes to mainstream sports on any virtual reality headset, we seem to be lacking a few. Basketball, football, and even baseball have yet to see a hit game on any headset. 2MD is looking to change that narrative by bringing a football game to the Oculus Quest.

Seasoned VR users will likely remember 2MD from their attempt to bring football to the PS VR and PC VR headsets with their game 2MD: VR Football. This game didn’t satisfy the need for a good football game in VR, but it was enough to curb your appetite for 20 minutes until your team took the field.

There is a new listing on the Oculus Quest Store for a game called ‘2MD: VR Football Unleashed’, and it has all football and VR lovers excited as ever. This title doesn’t feature a release date just yet, but we are hoping for a release date near the biggest weekend in football. The first Sunday of February would be an ideal release date, but the Thursday or Friday before that would be optimal. This game isn’t going to be a full football title, so strapping your Quest on to avoid hearing J-Lo perform during halftime wouldn’t be too bad of an idea.

2MD: VR Football Unleashed is going to focus on two-minute drills rather than the full football game. We aren’t sure if the two-minute drills are referring to the end of game scenarios all QB’s dream of or a series of drills that only last two minutes. Either way, you won’t have to worry about playing defense in this new Quest-built game.

In this new game from Truant Pixel, you will also be Abe to customize a great amount. From scheming your own plays and game plans on offense to your jerseys and player appearance, this game is going to give you full control of everything you care about. This is going to give plenty of users something to look forward to when the football season is over and if you don’t care to watch (or play) basketball in the spring months.

There is no price-point for this game set yet, but we are expecting this to hang out in the $15-$20 range. This would match the games the studio has released before, as well as the experience you will likely be getting. Will you be picking up a copy to play? Will this game be better than the Jennifer Lopez halftime show? Let us know in the comments below! For more VR news and community updates, make sure to check back at VRGear.com
