The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Releases on Rift Platform and SteamVR, Quest and PSVR Later 2020

The Walking Dead has turned the worlds fascination with zombies into an obsession that ranges to hundreds of millions of people. In what started as a comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore, the 2003 creation has blossomed into something much bigger. TV series, full-length novels, and even video games have all made an appearance with the Walking Dead tag on them. All of these different branches of the series have taught us the the same thing about survival. Each moment, there is a tough choice to be made.

There is one simple choice though, and that is to buy Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.

This game is available to all SteamVR users. It is compatible and has been optimized for each and every VR headset that works with Steam. It also is available on the Oculus Rift store for the Oculus Rift platform. The game comes at a price point of $39.99, and won’t be a part of any discounts or subscription services any time soon. It has been a hit so far, and that seems to be the trend of this zombie game going forward.

As for the Oculus Quest and the PSVR headsets, you won’t be seeing the game on there anytime soon. PlayStation VR is set to get the game in the spring sometime, but there has yet to be a hard release date, which gives many people the idea of cold feet. The Oculus Quest headset is set to get the game towards the end of 2020, as the hype of the game will have died down a good amount by then. Although the dev team has announced that the game will support cross buy for Oculus platforms. If you buy on the Rift today, you’ll already have the rights for the Quest when the time comes.

Gameplay & Setting

This game is played in the flooded ruins of New Orleans. Each step of the way, a tough choice will be made. Whether it be to ally a suspicious human or with which weapon to pick, this game is filled with unanswered questions for the player. With hand to hand melee combat mixed with ranged combat, this game is going to give the players everything they could be possibly wanting from a zombie survival game.

“With The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, we set out to create an experience that players and fans could fully immerse themselves in, which you can’t get from playing a console or mobile title,” said Adam Grantham, Creative Director at Skydance Interactive in a statement. “We wanted to give players an original story that truly belonged within The Walking Dead universe, from the environments, the narrative and the combat to make them feel as if they were truly living in this gruesome world.”

The spatial audio in this game is also top notch. The way the devs force players to pay attention with their ears is next-level. This game feels great, plays great, and is a game all VR players need to play. You can expect a classic in-depth game review shortly.
