‘Subnautica’ Will Start Free On Epic Games

0

Epic Games, who is most popular for their ever-growing game Fortnite, is ready to launch their own platform of distributing games for VR. They hope to also attract developers this way. The store will open and release the underwater survival game Subnautica for free.

Subnautica was originally released in 2015 on Early Release, and since then has not grown much. It was available for the consumer Oculus Rift DK2. But now in 2018, it is available on the Rift and the HTC Vive, although both headset use a mouse and keyboard setup to play the game.

If anyone gets this game from December 14th to December 27th, it will be free. Anytime before or after these dates, the game will cost the regular $25. Epic has also said they plan on doing promos like this for the foreseeable future, giving free games out every two weeks. We sure hope to see more VR games coming soon from them.
