Spider-Man To Appear In VR Once Again

In just matter of days now, Spider-Man: Far From Home will hit a theater near you. This is a highly anticipated Marvel film that is staring Tom Holland, a fan favorite. Of course we know this Spider-Man would never be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe if it weren’t for the cooperation of Sony to help make and produce these films.

Sony has played no small role in Spider-Man movies, and their role only seems to increase. The official Spider-Man Video game was released as a PlayStation exclusive. With Sony owning PlayStation, it makes perfect sense. With Sony making a VR game for nearly everything now, we can expect them to release the VR version of the Spidy game this week.

It is not expected that this game will be a PSVR exclusive, although we are do expect the PSVR headset to be the first to hold the game. We haven’t seen Spider-Man thrive inside of virtual reality just yet, with the Homecoming game being slightly flat with abilities, but we are genuinely excited about this game coming this week. In this new game you are expected to able to swing from web to web. Something all Spidy fans have been waiting for since the first movie and VR game.

In the gameplay, it seems like you are on a zip line headed to the building in front of you rather than swinging, but the footage is over a few months old and this is something Sony could have fixed pretty easily. Once you are able to free-swing inside of a Spider-Man VR game, it will change the VR space forever. This could be done a number of ways by the people at Sony and Marvel. This game already has blown other Marvel VR games out of the water, albeit we only know a small portion of what this game can do yet. One thing we are sure of is the variety that this game will bring.

With four different suits to choose from, all with different abilities, you are sure to be well prepared to defend the citizens of New York City. We can also assume that the story line of this game will match or resemble something from Spider-Man: Far From Home. With Sony indicating that there is a “colossal and dangerous enemy is waiting,” we can expect something of the likes of Mysterio to be waiting for us at the end of a big level.

We know that Sony is protective of their games, but we can expect this game to make its rounds of VR headsets. The Oculus Rift held demos for it all the way back in February, and the HTC Vive is supporting every other PSVR game as well. The Oculus Quest is still a question mark, but with the amount of users the Quest has now, Sony would be silly to not prepare a Spidy game for the worlds best standalone gaming headset.
