Oculus Venues a public social viewing app that allows you to be in the same virtual room as friends and strangers as you share an experience. The app will stream and host live sports, comedians, and of course our favorite concerts. Oculus has remained mute on if they are planning on releasing a Rift and Rift S version of the social app, so it will likely not be on your PC VR headset in two weeks. It would be an incredible improvement, as the picture, graphics, and refresh rate on the Rift S feels lightyears ahead of where the Quest is right now.

Oculus Venues has been picking up popularity by the thousands, as they have been hosting some amazing concerts and shows inside of their app. Virtual reality has an incredibly wide following, so knowing what to put on a public app. With that being said, Oculus has done a fantastic job at showing events that are wideranging and appealing to large audiences. Both Eilish and Malone have had their share of songs in the top 20 for the United States.

Post Malones most recent album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, is one of the top albums in the world right now. This is being gather from Apple Music, the biggest streaming service in the world right now. If you want to head over to Spotify to see how Posty’s album is doing over there, you will find the same result. He is at the top of every chart in the world right now, so his wide reaching music is sure to bring thousands to Oculus Venus in the coming few weeks.

If Oculus stays on their schedule of one big-name concert per month, business could be booming for Venues very quickly. There are plenty of huge names going on tour the rest of this year and next. Oculus Venues could be the premier way to experience a concert, and much cheaper alternative. If they can provide at least one concert a month, it could nearly become a subscription service, making the Quest and Go must-have headsets. This would not only make virtual reality more popularity, but the adoption of social VR apps improve greatly.

From Taylor Swift to Eminem, there is no shortage of stars coming on tour. It will be exciting to see if Oculus and third-party video capturers can seize the opportunity at hand. It would improve virtual reality and concerts for everybody, and could potentially be a gamechanging feature for years to come.
