Virtual reality isn’t cheap. Getting a compatible and powerful PC is a pain, getting a headset that is both good and cheap is hard, and finding games and apps for your headset is hard enough too. There isn’t one thing about setting up VR that is cheap, let alone affordable for millions across the world.
VR adoption is taking some time. Although it isn’t where many thought it would be, it still manages to make strides. If far from affordable, but people are still flocking to the headsets. So what if we were able to rent headsets? The Valve Index is the most expensive VR headset for consumers, but it is by far the best experience.
Everyone wants to use it, but no one wants to buy it.
Gaming subscriptions are gaming traction all across the world. The only subscription for VR games? Viveport Infinity. And even then, Vive has a hard time pulling in the best and most popular games because of the lack of subscribers they have harnessed in their first year.
So this raises the question. Do people want to pay for full games over having limited ownership? Or is this an opportunity question?

You pay Microsoft anywhere from $20-$35/month, and in return, you get an Xbox One console, Xbox Game Pass, online capabilities, and the ability to upgrade your console after 18 months.
Its a great deal and many people are taking advantage of it. There are similar deals all across the tech industry right now, so where is the VR company taking advantage? None to be seen, as of right now. So let’s get back to our original question.
