Borderlands 2 To Make PC VR Debut This Fall, Free PSVR Update Next Week

0

Borderlands 2 has been on the PSVR system for just under a year now, and it has slowly become one of the best games the platform has to offer. Although PC VR gamers have thousands of games to choose from, this game has been one that the community has been pulling to get for a while now.

At the PAX West gaming expo in Seattle, it was announced, along with other big announcements for the game, that Borderlands 2 VR was making its way to the PC for virtual reality gamers. Gearbox, the developer of the game, was happy to announce that the game would be coming this fall, although they didn’t say anything about a specific date. They also neglected to announce any specific headsets. This very easily could mean that any VR headset on PC is going to be available and compatible to play this game. The original Borderlands 1 and 2 are already on Steam, so getting them to VR compatible shouldn’t be too far of a stretch.

In the land of Pandora, you are going to be virtually there for the first time ever. This game is going to give you the ability to be inside of the game, rather than simply seeing it on screen. Before this announcement was made by Gearbox, they partnered with Epic Games to put parts of Pandora in their hit game Fortnite. If you are familiar with the game, you know how fun it is to have the new graphics inside of a game everybody plays. Many young gamers didn’t know what Borderlands was until they glided their way into Pandora, so this was a fruitful partnership for both gaming studios.

Borderlands 2 VR is expect to make big splashed in the PC virtual reality industry, and the gamers have been waiting for some time for the announcement. There was hints of this in the past, but for the developer of the game to come out and say it directly gives VR gamers a new hope.

The new update this is coming to the loyal PSVR users is going to be massive. According to Gearbox, the developing studio of the game, “the Bad Ass Mega Fun pack, as the free PSVR update will be known, includes four DLC campaigns – Captain Scarlet and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, and Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep – all suitably finessed to work in VR. It will also add the Creature Slaughter Dome, the Mechromancer and Psycho classes, all five Headhunter DLC packs, both Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Packs, plus the Vault Hunter Heads and Skin packs.”

This update is going to completely reshape the way you play this game. Not only will you be going to get more characters, but you will also get five completely new and original DLC packs. Borderlands 2 VR is going to be completely changed this upcoming week. This is what PlayStation has to say about their hit game. “Step into the boots of a treasure-seeking Vault Hunter armed with 87 bazillion possible guns on a quest to line your pockets with loot and free Pandora from Handsome Jack’s clutches. Blast bandits with real-world aiming, punch bullymongs in the mouth, find the perfect gun inside a life-sized treasure chest and inspect it from every angle. Catch-a-Ride and race across Pandora in first-person view and experience the thrill of a psycho running toward you with grenade in-hand yelling, “Boom time!”

Borderlands’ cost is $29.99 on the console right now, so you can expect that price to stick around for the PC version that is going to be sold in the fall of this year. For more VR games and news, make sure to check back at VRGear.com
