Billie Eilish, the pop start teenage is planning on performing inside of Oculus Venues next week. This will be a full concert on the free Oculus App, and it will be the biggest star to perform inside of a VR headset yet. This could be the marking of a new age in virtual reality performing.

Billie Eilish has stormed over the pop world the last year, and there hasn’t been anyone to challenge her. Her music style, mixed with her very unique personality, have made her an icon that many pay close attention to. She has her fair share of songs that are hanging out in the top  10, so this is a major win for Oculus headsets. Oculus Venues have recently showed a sporting event and a Tenacious D rock opera. A Billie Eilish concert that you are able to experience with others in VR is the intro to a new era of performances in virtual reality.

Below you can see the description of the event that Venues is advertising.

“17-year-old Billie Eilish is the artist behind the multi-platinum global smash album, “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?”. The album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 album chart and has since returned to the top spot two additional times this year. Her single “bad guy” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following an unprecedented total of 9 weeks at No. 2.”

Billie will be performing in Spain on the 3rd of September when she is giving the Venues a concert as well. This isn’t exclusive to just virtual reality either. This is a real concert that is also going to be in real life for the people of Spain as well. From the WiZink Center, Billie just may have her biggest concert yet.

With Labor Day Weekend coming up inside of the United States, the Oculus Quest is going to be used much more than usual over the long weekend. With all of this extra time for users to get comfortable with the app, you can bet that Oculus is expecting a nice turnout for their biggest VR concert yet. The concert in the Tuesday after the holiday at 8 PM EST. if you have an Oculus headset, you can mark it or put your interest level on it. If you don’t the headset with you, you can also go through the Oculus App to put it in your calendar.

Oculus Venues is the news app of social ones inside of VR. Much like Rec Room or Bigscreen, you are going to be able to join other VR headset users as viewers of virtual events. This is going to be continued as we prepare for the Oculus event at the end of September. This will shed more light with how Facebook is planning on making virtual reality more inclusive and social than it ever has been.

With Jason Rubin, the Oculus VP of gaming for Oculus, speaking out on what they have coming, you can expect big things from the company. He said that “I wouldn’t worry about our Oculus Studios slate. We’ve got lots of big announcements coming…” We are unsure if this means that they are exclusively focusing on gaming and the future of AR and VR at the upcoming event or not, but we are sure it is going to be big. If Facebook is wanting to be more inclusive, they will need to give non-VR users a platform is which they can interact with users inside of headsets. This could all become possible at the upcoming event.
