With recent rumors surfacing about the Valve Index possible restocking, it seems like the return of the headset is on the horizon. With the production of hardware slowing due to COVID-19, many companies have been trouble staying in stock. Valve has experienced the same thing, as the Index has been sold out for months now.

The VNN, Valve News Network, has reported that they have seen a leaked email stating when the Valve Index should be in stock. These are only rumors, but they seem pretty legit.

You can check out the full video below, but we can summarize it for you too. VNN’s Tyler McVicker claims to have see an email with the idea that the Index will be returning the Steam shelves on Monday, March 9th at 12 Noon EST. The Index has high demand right now, and the company knows it. McVicker also claims that the email says the Index will sell out immediately. With thousands ready to be noticed when its on sale, you’ll need to act fast to get a headset out of this batch.

If this all true, get your credit cards ready. The Index has been sold out since January and has seen resale prices go through the roof. If you are lucky enough to snag one of them when they are on sale, you could very well make some money on the resale market as well.

Valve has yet to comment on the validity of these rumors, but we will keep you updated when and if they do. Their latest comments make this seem much more believable, as they said this was the goal. You can check out their latest statement out below.

“With Half-Life: Alyx coming March 23rd, we are working hard to meet demand for the Valve Index and want to reassure everyone that Index systems will be available for purchase prior to the game’s launch,” a Valve spokesperson said. “However, the global coronavirus health crisis has impacted our production schedules so we will have far fewer units for sale during the coming months compared to the volumes we originally planned. Our entire team is working hard right now to maximize availability.”

We will continue to keep our stories recent and give updates on the Valve Index as they come to light. For more VR news and hardware updates, make sure to check back at VRGear.com
