Developers that want a lot of people to buy their VR game could spend thousands on advertising within just a few days. It might cost some real money but ensures some copies will be sold. Developers who are incredibly confident (sometimes to a fault) often release their game with no prior warning or advertising, trusting that their name and title will be enough to pull the audience to the ‘purchase’ button inside of the app store.

That is exactly what Ubisoft did with their latest VR game on the best VR platform, the Oculus Quest. Star Trek: Bridge Crew has been out for nearly two years and has established its place in the top-tier of multi-player virtual reality games. This game is now available on the Oculus Quest, the most sharable virtual reality platform.

In this game, you will have the ability to serve on the bridge crew as a member of the team from the original Star Trek. You will be able to play as a Captain, Helm, Tactical, or an Engineer. There is a dynamic storyline in this game as well as ongoing missions inside that will be keeping your story alive and well. This is going to enable you to play for hours and increases the odds of you jumping back into this virtual reality game.

This game doesn’t seem to be supporting cross-buy for the Oculus systems. This means that if you bought this game for your Rift or Rift S headsets, you’ll need to purchase another copy for your standalone Quest headset. As for cross-play capabilities, it will remain the same as before, just adding the Quest into headsets that are capable.

Putting this game on the Oculus Quest is going to change the way it is played, and it sure to bring more people together during the holiday season. It is rare to find four VR-ready PC’s in the same room. Now you don’t, as the Quest is easy to set up in the same room as somebody else with the same headset. Boarding a ship and commanding it during war has never been so easy, fun, and convenient.

If you are looking to buy the Quest for this game, you are going to out of luck until at least January. Unless you are willing to shell out double (or more) of the price Oculus sells for, you won’t get it before the end of the holidays.

You can buy this game on the Quest for $29.99. As we said earlier, this game isn’t supporting cross-buy. For more VR news and VR gaming community updates, make sure to check back at VRGear.com
