Beat Saber hinted last week that they were planning on releasing a song with a whopping 8.7 notes per second. Although that may sound like a joke, or a way to hide two notes in every one, it was real. The songs released today in a free pack. The music is coming from Camellia, an up and coming Japanese artist.

The three songs that have been released are Exit This Earth’s Atomosphere, GHOST, and Light It Up. The song with 8.7 notes per second on Expert+? GHOST. So make sure you stretch and clear your play space to not hurt yourself in this new project of arm swinging.

It was reported by Beat Saber that these songs are coming from Cametek, but when you jump into the game, it says that they are from Camellia. This may be another name, but we aren’t sure. At the time of this writing though, there are two different artists seeming responsible for the new music.

When we were reporting on the possibility of a song like this, we broke down how absurd the number 8.7 was. It still is absurd. The next two songs in this free release take the crown as the second and third fastest songs on the game right now. This doesn’t include any songs that can be played on the game, it is only in reference to songs officially on the game with Beat Saber’s permission.

Beat Saber is the only VR game that seems to have a community behind it that doesn’t get sick of the gameplay. Games like Pistol Whip and Dance Central made big waves in the opening weeks, but slowly died down. Pistol Whip hasn’t been releasing nearly enough DLC to stay relevant, and Dance Centrals engine wasn’t as smooth as many would’ve hoped.

A game that could possibly have the same longevity is Audica. This game finally made it to the Oculus Quest, and from what it seems, people are loving the original gameplay. You not only punch the beat when it gets near you, but you’ll be tasked with shooting the beat with your gun. This needs to be done accurately and in a timely manner, as its much like Pistol Whip in the way that you need to shoot and hit on the beat.
